Mission Statement

There are a number of excellent blogs that deal with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, as well as with U.S. policies towards Israel, but not many that can provide the historical perspective that my background, research, and extensive notes taken over the past fifty years make possible. (see About Me)

This blog will be devoted primarily to U.S-Israeli issues, as suggested by the title. I will offer brief commentaries on current issues as well as longer essays based on research and scholarship (mine or others), but not written in academic prose. Because these longer essays will appear irregularly, it would be best for interested readers to sign up for email notification (see the link on this page).

A word on my perspective: I regard myself as a disillusioned, even despairing, Zionist with close ties to Israel, including my offer (following my 1957-60 service as a destroyer officer in the U.S. Navy) to serve in the same capacity in the Israeli Navy, should I be needed (I wasn’t). In addition, I was a Fulbright professor at Haifa University in 1989.

For the most part, the spirit that will guide this blog will be Tough Love: Israel is on course for a moral and strategic disaster and must be “saved from itself,” principally by the United States and the American Jewish community. Though there is no choice but to keep trying, the prospects that tough love will work are admittedly dim. If it fails, those of us Jews who believe that Israel is betraying our heritage as well as its promise to become a “Light Unto the Nations” still have a moral imperative to speak out. Another spirit that will guide this blog, then, is this: Not In My Name.

Just read your piece in the Huffington Post ("Does Obama Understand..."). At first I had some reservations, but after looking through your credentials and reading some of your articles written over the years, I am very much looking forward to seeing more of your work published in the H.P.

Yet another American Jewish Leftie can't wait to pour his scorn on his struggling brethren, establish his progressive credentials with his Arab students and maybe get a Saudi grant or two. A hundred years ago people like you converted to Christianity and published books about Jewish propensity for Gentile blood. Not in your name, indeed.

When you preach hatred, when you teach hatred, when you nurture hatred, when you honour hatred, then you get hatred. The Palestinian from earliest age is taught by his mother, his family, his neighbours, his Imamas, his teachers, and his media to hate. He learned well. What the Left doesn't understand is that you can get "peace" in one second but it will take generations to undo the hatred that's been taught. Witness Egypt and Jordan at the people level. Peace yes but hatred flourishes.

11 Arab states 400 times the size of tiny Israel waged war on Israel after rejecting U.N. partition plan. Well they lost. Same Arab states just before attacking broadcast to Arabs in Israel to leave and upon victory return or be seen as traitors, those Arabs unafraid who stayed put are Arab-Israel citizens today. Those that left were used as pawns by above Arab states and placed in squalid refugee camps till today for propaganda purposes by above 11 Arab states who lost. So how can you confuse killers with victims with victims.

It is not cheap to upgrade to 2007 for the purpose of making the move you need to know exactly what the differences are to be and what are the benefits of Microsoft 2007. This article describes some of the key differences you should know to help you make the right decision when you upgrade or not. MS Office 2007 brought the introduction of the tape that is the menu bar at the top of the screen. While there was little he began to develop using it because they left the menu bar button that was so prominent in the predecessors. It has become essential to the use of Microsoft Office and has become much more practical for users once the learning curve has been overcome.

The biggest upgrade to Office 2007 is the increased use of new menu system. Microsoft Office 2007
has used this tape successfully and has been based on that stretch across all the range of products including Outlook and OneNote, which before were still using a menu system more. The new film, which was blue in Download Office 2007

What if the state of Israel was never founded? I wonder what tyrant would be abusing his people right now on that tiny piece of land about the size of NJ. What would middle-eastern tyrants like Arafat (who died a billionaire) have done since 1948 without Israel as their scapegoat to distract their people - who's children are just waking up now.

On getting your Terrorism article printed, go to the London Review of Books like Mearshimer and Walt did for The Israel Lobby--with a recommendation from them! Excellent article--well worth wide distribution. Come to The Israel Lobby event in DC in April. Bring your article!
